Regulatory context
In China, announcement No. 10 of 30 October 2013 approves Euglena gracilis (裸藻) as a new food raw material. The former National Health and Family Planning Commission issued it, and the National Health Commission publishes the text. In the European Union, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1820 authorises dried Euglena gracilis as a novel food. The regulation sets the specification, food categories and maximum levels for that authorised material.
